Get Ready for the Biggest Tax Hike in History

Brought to you by the socialist party of America:

Quote:
Washington, DC – Rep. John Spratt (D-S.C.), Chairman of the House Budget Committee, forced through a budget this week which will impose the largest tax increase in American history, raising taxes $2.3 trillion over the next ten years. The average South Carolina resident will be forced to pay an average of $2,483 in higher taxes every year if the Spratt budget is enacted.

“This budget clearly reflects the priorities of San Francisco liberal Pelosi and not the priorities of Palmetto State residents,” said Grover Norquist, President of Americans for Tax Reform. “Raising taxes for more government spending and growing the size of government is irresponsible. Rep. Spratt has a history of voting against lower taxes, so nobody should be surprised. But this budget demonstrates he is taking orders from the liberal wing of his party and for that he is clearly out step with the taxpayers in his home district.”

A number of amendments were offered to preserve vital tax relief and Spratt voted against each and every one including: the extension lower income tax rates, the extension of the $1,000 per child tax credit, extension of marriage penalty relief, against the extension of the state and local tax deduction, and against the extension of the current 15 percent rate on capital gains and dividends.

In summary, Rep. Spratt voted NO on the following taxpayer-friendly provisions:
--NO on committing to pass a budget without a tax increase
--NO on extending the $1,000 per child tax credit
--NO on extending marriage penalty relief
--NO on extension of existing marginal income tax cuts
--NO on extension of the 15 percent rate on capital gains and dividend earnings
--NO on elimination of the death tax
--NO on extension of the state and local tax deduction

Americans for Tax Reform
We constantly hear from Democrats how they are the party for the little guy, so you'd have to wonder why their chairman of the House Budget Committee would bring a budget to the floor that is going to hurt working class Americans more than anyone else.

Here is a chart of what the average person will pay if this were to actually pass:

Socialist party of America? How would you react if I start calling the GOP The Fascist Party?

I never knew the Green Party was one of lowering taxes. You really need to do a little research before you just say the first thing that pops into your head.

Re: Get Ready for the Biggest Tax Hike in History

If that tax hike comes with deficit reduction and responsible budgeting I won't complain. I never thought the tax break I received under w was worth the deficits we've run up and the debt we're dumping on future taxpayers.

With all the increases in spending and new programs they propose then explain to me how they are going to cut taxes? In that case we would run deficits that would make those of the present and past look like nothing. Unless you view deficits as a good thing for some crazy reason I do not see how you can be for their proposals and tax cuts. I guess since they are not really a serious contender they do not have to show how their ideas will work in the real world. Either that or you just do not know what you are talking about which is most likely the case given your history on this site.

Re: Get Ready for the Biggest Tax Hike in History

Heres how cutting taxes would look like. 5% all income taxes cut. Then you add the luxery sales taxes.Thats how you make the Rich Pay more. This is my idea of Luxery Sale Taxes.

Any Home is above $300,000 and More
Gold and Diamond Jewelry= Gold or Diamiond Watches,,Necklaces,Bracelets and Rings.
Fur Coats and Hats.
Cars thats over $40,000.
Yachts
Private Jets
Big Business Sales but not Small Business Sales.
All These Items are Subjected to a 10% luxery sales tax added to your States sales tax. THATS HOW YOU MAKE THE RICH PAY THEIR FAIR SHARE,,And Theyre no Lawyers can help em get around this. The only way around it is to Fly to Canada and buy these items.

You mean like the luxury boat tax passed some time ago? ('92ish?) Rather than custom order a pricey new boat And pay a sizeable percentage in tax surcharge, people stopped or delayed buying, bought used boats, or saved the tax difference and bought used in Europe and sailed them home. The end result of this 'stick it to the rich' tax? It drove numerous mom-n-pop custom boatbuilders out of business.

It's an unfortunate fact that some level of progressive taxation makes sense simply because, like robbing banks, that's where the money is, but when you try to Truly stick it to the rich (or most anyone else, for that matter) people will either find a way around the rules or trade in over-taxed vices for new ones.

Any Home is above $300,000 and More
$299K, then add the pool or whatnot. Or for used, sell owner financed with high interest, or sell all fixtures in a separate transaction, or...
Gold and Diamond Jewelry ... Watches,,Necklaces,Bracelets and Rings.
No prob, I buy platinum and sapphire anyway...
Fur Coats and Hats.
If the tax is high enough, buy a fur rug and then get it 'altered'.
Cars thats over $40,000.
Lease with option to buy, setting way high lease payments appropriately so that the final buy price on a $300K car is $39K.
Yachts
Hard to circumvent, so just buy smaller, or a party barge, or used, or give up and lease a really nice car. And drive what's left of the US boatbuilding 'cottage industry' under.
Private Jets
See above, while driving whatever small aviation industry the US has away/under, being sure to simultaneously complain that the US is sorely lacking in manufacturing jobs.
Big Business Sales but not Small Business Sales.
My first thought was spinnoffs and acquisitions, but then I'm wondering how/if this applies to plain stock purchases, which might Greatly affect the unintended consequences.

Actually, the way to get the rich to pay their fair share is to cut their taxes, since they already pay more than they should.

I propose a tax on failing to put spaces between punctuation marks and the words that follow them.

I disagree; make them get the spending under control. They have enough revenue as it is, they (all sides) need to stop the bullcrap spending.
