Bush v. Gore re:energy consumption

I found this story so hilarious I had to post it.

However, I will say this: just becaue Gore is an unbearable hypocrite doesn't mean we should just disregard the issue out of hand and instead do as that blathering idiot Rush Limbaugh says, which is to be as wasteful as you wanna be. But w/o further ado, a comparison of the Bush & Gore households:

Re: Bush v. Gore re:energy consumption

Gore is quite the hypocrite, but that isn't news to anybody who does research. Gore's carbon credits idea is a combonation of indirect enviornmental activism with market solutions. It's an idea that not everybody can live in an eco-friendly house, but if a person puts out pollution they can be penalized by paying a fine/tax/levy.

Re: Bush v. Gore re:energy consumption

Carbon credits are utter nonsense.

How do you verify that the "carbon credit" you bought actually resulted in less carbon output from the seller?

They don't. However I think a carbon tax/levy could be introduced. The revenue generated could go to research into green energy.

Re: Bush v. Gore re:energy consumption

You mean, like the taxes on gasoline, fuel oil, natural gas and electricity that we already have?

Re: Bush v. Gore re:energy consumption

Gore's "environmentalism" is nothing more than a desperate plea for attention. That's pretty easy to see.

Yeah, and it distracts him from the more serious issue of hunting down and defeating Manbearpig.

I thought he was super serial about it. Or is it "cereal"? Or was he pronouncing "serious" wrong?

Re: Bush v. Gore re:energy consumption

Looks like the Congress wants to pend $850,000 or so a year of our tax money to buy carbon credits to make the capitol "carbon neutral"

Lovely.

Fuck that!!! Carbon credits should be used for people and organizations that aren't able to employ enviornmentally friendly tactics. There's nothing stopping these assholes from using those funds to put solar panels on the roofs or refurbishing the capitol into a more earth friendly enviornment.

Why did Ronnie Reagan remove the solar panels from the WH?

Re: Bush v. Gore re:energy consumption

Seems that the solar collection systems have returned to the White House:

Quote:
Since September 2002, a grid of 167 solar panels on the roof of a maintenance shed has been delivering electricity to the White House grounds. Another solar installation has been helping to provide hot water. Yet another has been heating the water in the presidential pool.

One does have to wonder why EnviroAl didn't do something about it in the 8 years he was the VP?

Good deal.

Re: Al----He, like most VPs, was marginalized. It wasn't until the onslaught of Bush Inc. that we saw the traditional power arrangement of prez & VP literally stood on its head. . .

Brings to mind Pelosi using a commercial airliner to commute to work or FOX being the only news to show democrats getting back into there large SUV’s after a photo op at a gas station criticizing families for needing family sized vehicles.
I really hope people can see what it is they do.

True that, Hank. Our government officials are really pretty awful.
